How To Install Mods On Your Vintage Story Server

This is what you do if you need to install mods to your Vintage Story server. You can install mods through our built-in mod installer, or upload them manually after downloading them from the Vintage Story website.

Installing Mods

Note

Some mods rely on other mods (dependencies) to work. Always check the mod's documentation first and install any dependencies it lists, otherwise the mod may fail to load.

Using the Mod Installer Recommended

The easiest way to install mods is directly through the panel.

Log in to Bropanel and select your Vintage Story server.

In the sidebar, go to Mods and open the Browse tab.

Find the mod you want and click Install.

Restart your server.

Manually Installing Mods

Alternatively, you can install mods manually, which is great for uploading a large modlist at once. Download your mods from the Vintage Story website.

Log in to Bropanel and Stop your server.

In the sidebar, go to Files.

Navigate to the /data/Mods folder and upload your plugin.zip.

Start your server.

Configuring Mods

While these steps may vary, common mod configuration follows this process, ensure to always follow the mod authors documentation.

Log in to Bropanel and Stop your server.

In the sidebar, go to Files.

Navigate to the /data/ModConfig folder and edit the config.json of your desired mod, then click save.

Start your server.
